Sesame is a seed native to India and Africa. There are several types: red, black, yellow, or white, and even with or without shell.

Black sesame is a derivative of traditional sesame, but with the characteristic that the shell is left on, whereas sesame is not. Black sesame has medicinal properties, which is why it is highly recommended to eat it raw or toasted, or its oil for some human illnesses, in addition to being more tasty and aromatic than normal sesame.
